Nelson Schmidt Wins Awards in Prestigious Advertising Annual

Agency Wins Three Applied Arts Design & Advertising Awards

September, 2007

Three posters designed by Nelson Schmidt have been awarded placements in the prestigious 16th Applied Arts Design and Advertising Awards Annual.

The award-winning posters will be featured in the annual for two categories: Poster Design, Series; and Public Service/Charity Design Series, for its Grape Lakes Food and Wine Festival Poster Campaign. Nelson Schmidt volunteered its resources to develop the posters to promote the 2006 Grape Lakes Food and Wine Festival, which included a 5k run/walk called the Grape Stomp; a fine wine auction and gourmet dinner; and a Grand Wine Tasting event to benefit the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Friends of Art.

“We’re proud to be supporters of the Milwaukee Art Museum, and it was our pleasure to contribute our time and talent to create compelling, award-winning posters to promote their event,” said Dan Nelson, Jr., president of Nelson Schmidt. “It’s that kind of devotion to creative excellence that makes Nelson Schmidt an award-winning agency with a commitment to its clients’ success.”

The posters will be displayed at the Design & Advertising Awards Exhibit in Toronto in November and will be featured in the Applied Arts Design and Advertising Annual.

The creative team behind the posters included: Jane Kramer and Rick Lagan, creative directors; Jane Kramer, art director; Rick Lagan, copywriter; Jeff Salzer, photographer; and Gina Ferrise, image manipulation.
